California Will Require Solar Power for New Homes

Although solar energy is gradually entering the mainstream,  California is poised to become the first state in the nation to mandate solar panels on most new homes as part of a program to harness clean technology and reduce the impact of new homes on the environment.

All new homes (including detached houses, apartments, and buildings) must be obliged by regulations to be implemented by 2020.

With the installation of solar panels, only a few households that are blocked by nearby higher buildings or have land restrictions can apply for special exemptions. This plan does not require that the solar panels of the device be able to offset the annual energy consumption of the homeowners. However, if solar energy panels are installed and energy storage devices such as Tesla Powerwall are also installed, the installation area of solar panels can be allowed to be reduced.
